Der Magier Hulagu [Swami Khan Khan] (geb. um 1220 n. Chr. [born 2050 B.C.]) entführt die Ducks nach Bagdad [Sagbad, capital of Fatcatstan] und versetzt sie in das 13. Jahrhundert. Dagobert hält sich für seinen Vorfahren, den Kalifen von Bagdad [King Scrooge-Shah], und durchlebt noch einmal den Angriff der Mongolen [Mongolduks] unter Führung von Hulagu, dem Enkel Dschingis-Khans. Er führt Hulagu zu seiner geheimen Schatzkammer. In diesem Augenblick holt Hulagu die Ducks in die Gegenwart zurück. Die Schätze überläßt er Dagobert, ihm geht es nur um eine kleine Truhe, die das Gegenmittel gegen seine ewige Jugend enthält.

Barks' pencil sketches have not survived; however, there is a dialog script compared to which the published story seems to have been distinctly toned down (above all at the end). It is unknown whether Barks made these changes himself or whether they were ordered by Western.
