This tabular index contains all comic works by Carl Barks. Also included are covers, children's books, non-Disney comics, and unpublished cover sketches as well as those stories for which Barks wrote only the script.
Not included, however, are those works which were not made for the comic books (cartoons, animation work, isolated sketches, paintings, designs for porcelain figurines, and so on). Informations on animated cartoons and paintings can be found in separate chapters, though.
This index lists all comic works sorted by the location of their first publication. Each entry has the following structure:
1st column (publ.): Location of the first U.S. publication; the term »US 13/2« stands for »2nd Barks story in Uncle Scrooge 13«. A »0« behind the slash means this is the front cover of the corresponding book. (See also Abbr.)
2nd column (title): Original title; fictive titles of originally untitled stories in the Carl Barks Library in Color or in the Barks Bear Book are added in [italics and square brackets].
3rd column (c.date): Date of creation, that is the day when Barks submitted this contribution to Western or when it was accepted by Western.
4th column (p.date): Month of first publication. This information is normally based on the printing on the cover; you have to consider, however, that Western's comic books were often predated by several months.
5th column (pages): Page count of the first publication.
6th column (a/s): This is short for »art/script«; it indicates to which amount Barks was involved in the development of this item:

a+s  art and script by Barks;
art only by Barks;
script/idea only by Barks;
a+r  art and rewriting of script.

7th column (persons): Persons of the story. Gathered here is the standard comic personnel as well as those persons who have a role in at least 2 Barks stories. (See also Abbr.)
8th column (CBL): Location in the Carl Barks Library; the term »VII/2/345« stands for »set VII, volume 2, page 345«. The abbreviation »BBB« indicates the Barks Bear Book.
